Set Up a Raspberry Pi as a Live Streaming Camera That Broadcasts to YouTube



You want to live stream to YouTube but don’t want to spend much money to do so, MakeUseOf has a guide for setting up a Raspberry Pi as a live streaming device that’ll broadcast automatically.

All you’ll need here is a Raspberry Pi and a Camera Module (or a USB webcam, if you already have one). Once those are gathered up, you’ll need to create a YouTube channel, set up a few things on the Raspberry Pi through the command line, and then you’ll be good to go from there. This is a pretty easy way to get a live stream online from your Raspberry Pi without dealing with setting up your own server, though you’ll be missing out on some of the more advanced features of a more security-oriented system, like motion detection or alerts.
