Duolingo is a free language-learning website and mobile app, now available for Android, that lets you learn or helps you study a couple of languages.

The app is structured clearly, with lessons and exercises, and a tree showing your progress. You can change which language program you're in with the control in the top right corner where you can see a flag.

As you complete units with a perfect score, the lessons turn gold, meaning you don't need to refresh your skills in that section. Lessons inside the lesson appear as a blue notebook, shown on a later slide.

When faced with a new word that you haven't learned yet, the app will show you possible meanings for the word.
