After 17 Years Of Separation, Rev. Al Sharpton, a Civil Rights Activist Files For Divorce

  A U.S civil rights activist and a Baptist minister, Alfred Charles Sharpton, has filed for divorce from his wife, Kathy Jordan whom he has been separated from for 17 years. Rev.Alfred is also a talk show host and a politician.   The 66-year-old civil rights activist filed for a contested divorce in Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday February 11, court records show.  Sharpton and Jordan met in the '70s when Al was touring with James Brown and she was a backup singer. They got married in 1980 and were together for 24 years before their split. The pair have two daughters together, Dominique and Ashley Sharpton.    The civil rights activist and MSNBC star has been in a relationship with Aisha McShaw, a personal stylist from Westchester since 2013.

A Great Hollywood Icon Gone! Cicely Tyson Is Dead

  The award-winning actress and a Hollywood icon, Cicely Tyson has died at the age of 96. According to a statement from her manager, Larry Thompson, she died on Thursday afternoon, January 28.  "With heavy heart, the family of Miss Cicely Tyson announces her peaceful transition this afternoon. At this time, please allow the family their privacy," Thompson said in a statement. “I have managed Miss Tyson’s career for over 40 years, and each year was a privilege and blessing. Cicely thought of her new memoir as a Christmas tree decorated with all the ornaments of her personal and professional life. Today she placed the last ornament, a Star, on top of the tree.”

300 Rice Factory Workers Rescued By The Police In Nigeria

The workers were promised an additional $13 a month on top of their $72 monthly salary - those who did not accept were threatened with the sack. The men were allegedly not allowed to leave the mill in the northern city of Kano. Meanwhile, five managers at the Indian-owned mill have been arrested. The company, called Popular Farms, has not responded to BBC requests for comment. Police spokesman Abdullahi Haruna told the BBC that the plant had now been shut down and the owners were being investigated for "holding the men against their will". Some of the men say were forced to work most of the time during their incarceration, with little food. 28-year-old Hamza Ibrahim, one of those rescued, told the BBC's Mansur Abubakar in Kano, "We were allowed to rest for only a short time, no prayers were allowed, no family visits." Rick Ross Ordered To Pay Heavily To His Baby Mama For Child Support

Rick Ross's relationship  with his baby mama , Briana Camille, who has given birth to two of his children and is now carrying his third, has hit the rock. And she has gone to court to establish paternity of their two children and to receive child  support payments. Following the court judgement, Rick Ross will have to pay up $8,500 a month in temporary child support to his ex-girlfriend and baby mama, Briana Camille, who is pregnant with their third child.  Rick Ross and Briana Camille went their separate ways at the end of 2019, after dating for two years. According to the order, which was obtained by BOSSIP, Judge Christopher Edwards ordered the rapper to begin making $8,500 a month payment last week, the order states amid their child support battle.  The judge ruled that $6,000 of the child payment will go towards caring for the couple’s two kids, Berkeley, three, and Billion, who is almost two, while $2,500 will pay for a nanny to help with the kids while Briana ...

The First Black Man In American History To Be Appointed As Military Service Chief

Gen. Charles Q. Brown was on Tuesday confirmed by the US Senate to be the next Air Force chief of staff, making him the first African-American leader of military service.  Mike Pence (U.S vice president), presided over the historic 98-0 vote to confirm Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. to be chief of staff of the Air Force, a vote that came in the wake of the nationwide protests over police brutality and racial injustice following the death of George Floyd. President Donald Trump, who nominated Brown in March, hailed the general in a statement via his Twitter page. "My decision to appoint @usairforce General Charles Brown as the USA’s first-ever African American military service chief has now been approved by the Senate," Trump said, though the tweet came before the confirmation vote. "A historic day for America! Excited to work even more closely with Gen. Brown, who is a Patriot and Great Leader!"

Police Searching For Suspects After Rioters Reportedly Stole More Than 70 Luxury Cars

The Police department in Northern California are searching for suspects after protesters reportedly stole more than seventy (70) luxury cars from a dealership near San Francisco Sunday night. Carlos Hidalgo, the owner of San Leandro Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership said, that although he blocked the exits as a precaution, the thieves “started ramming, ramming until they could get out. They took out chains and fence posts. “You walk in and it's like a war zone," said Hidalgo. “It’s not a cause for anybody. This is just bad thieves. It’s horrible. This is domestic terrorism brought upon to people that work. That’s not right.”
